UAE First Aid Compliance FAQ
Dubai Municipality ยท OSHAD ยท DHA ยท MOHAP

The most common questions about first aid kit requirements, compliance, and supply across the UAE โ€” answered by our team of first aid specialists.

Q1.Is a first aid kit legally required in UAE workplaces?

Yes. UAE Federal Labour Law (Federal Law 33/2021) requires employers to provide first aid facilities. Dubai Municipality (DM-PH&SD-P4-TG 17), OSHAD (Abu Dhabi), and other authorities have specific requirements layered on top of this federal obligation.

Q2.How many first aid kits do I need for my Dubai office?

Dubai Municipality requires at minimum 1 first aid box per 150 employees. So an office with 150 or fewer employees needs at least 1 kit. An office with 300 employees needs at least 2 kits. The kit must be accessible to all employees and regularly maintained.

Q3.What is the difference between a 25-person and 50-person first aid kit?

The main differences are quantity of supplies and the inclusion of more advanced items. A 50-person kit has more bandages, gauze, gloves, and includes items like eye wash, a tourniquet, and burn dressings that may not be in a 25-person kit. The box itself is also larger and wall-mountable.

Q4.Do I need a trained first aider in addition to a first aid kit?

Dubai Municipality does not currently mandate a trained first aider for most commercial establishments. However, OSHAD (Abu Dhabi) requires at least 1 trained first aider per 50 workers in medium and high-risk environments. Healthcare facilities (DHA regulated) must have qualified medical staff.

Q5.How often should I refill or replace first aid kit items in UAE?

Best practice (and DM inspection expectation) is quarterly inspection of all first aid kit contents. Replace any items that have been used, are expired, or are damaged. Items like adhesive bandages and antiseptic wipes typically expire in 2โ€“5 years.

Q6.Can I buy a first aid kit in Dubai that is already compliant?

Yes. FirstCare First Aid supplies pre-configured Dubai Municipality and OSHAD-compliant first aid kits in 10, 25, 50, 100, and 150+ person sizes. All kits use CE-certified contents and include Arabic/English first aid manuals. We can also issue a compliance statement with your order.

Q7.Do you deliver first aid kits outside UAE โ€” to Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia?

Yes. We export first aid kits to Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and across the GCC. Typical delivery time is 3โ€“5 working days with full customs documentation. We supply to Doha, Muscat, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Salalah, Sohar, and all GCC cities.
